I don't know how to give the link but you savvy ones will do the right thing. SRAN545 is the safety code. EFI has it's benefits, but when you consider and contacts being sensitive and fragile, along with all the wiring, i wonder if having a old school bike that I could probably do more maintainance myself could be less worry some. I realize there is no one correct answer, some of you fellas like mapping and pulling what is left of your hair , but thanks for doing it. Safe riding

I have often thought about building a carby/ points version of our engine.

SRAN545 (Re: Leethal) | | Hey Lee It's not so much the VIN number of the bike as it is the serial number of the 29 alarms. My bike is a 2012 so they figure I might have one. It's like the alarm units produced from 13 the week of 2013 to the 14 the week of 2016. I will give you all the recall titles if that will work. The first one maybe a USA thing but if you Google 17E008 it should come up on the NHTSA website with all the details about diagnosing the alarm units. Good luck mate

You must have access to a great work shop with mates like you. Good that you are passionate keeping your mind sharp and fertile until the brews start taking over. So the carbs replace the throttle bodies, but where do the points get mounted and wired to what? Nice project.

SRAN545 (Re: rayglo) | | Points would be a challenge for sure, a separate sealed compartment outside of the RH case would be required with a crank extension, if I ever got into it electronic ignition would probably win out. It's probably just me thinking back to those days of long rides and no electrical or mechanical problems, well that I can recall anyway
